You're My Obsession: December 12-18, 2011
/
Note: You might have noticed that I changed my December You’re My Obsession image. Something about the poinsettias seemed too dour or funereal. No chance of that with a hot pink Christmas tree. Hmm…maybe I would like to have a hot pink Christmas tree at my funeral.

Shopping at Anthropologie
One of the dangers of working downtown is that my office is just a few blocks away from Anthropologie, a magical place where I would live if they would let me.
On a recent trip, after I finished swooning over their kitchen stuff, I decided to try on a few things. Here’s what I came home with. Note: My sweater is gray, not orange.
Even though I don’t cook, I want some of their kitchen stuff for my pretty refrigerator obsession.
Facebook Timeline
Even though I probably spend more time on Twitter (chatting with people I haven’t met in real life yet versus friends I’ve known for years - oh, blogging!), Facebook may reel me back in a bit with their cool new Timeline feature.
Have you guys activated it yet? What do you think?
The Decor of The Fat Hen
Drew, Nathaniel, and I tried a new place for breakfast on Saturday. We went to The Fat Hen in Ballard.
I ordered a delicious Nutella brioche, scrambled eggs with mushrooms and mozzarella cheese, and a green salad with lemon oil dressing and toasted almonds. Drew tried the bostock - housemade brioche, orange syrup, almond cream, apricot preserves, and hand-whipped cream. Nathaniel had one of their kids’ meals - an English muffin and scrambled eggs, plus Drew and I shared some of our food with him, as well as each other.
I fell in love with the restaurant decor. I loved the water bottles, and how they used crab apples and persimmons as pops of color.
When we go back, I think I’ll stick with sweets and maybe a salad. I wasn’t too crazy about my eggs. There was only one type of scramble, and their other egg dishes were poached or baked, which I don’t like. Also, the coffee could use some work. It was a French press, which I usually love, but it tasted weak and it was lukewarm. The Nutella brioche and the bostock where delicious though, and I really liked my salad. Bringing out spicy gingerbread star cookies with the check was a nice touch.
